“Pope John Paul II Entrusted the
World’s Family Crisis to the Prayers of Children”
John
Paul II Christmas Letter to the World’s Children
"Dear
young friends,
it is to your prayers that I want to entrust
the problems of your own families
and all the families of the world."
|
All odds were against the Christian fleet. The enemy
was at the peak of their power.
The Holy Father enjoined the recitation of the
Rosary on Christendom, with public processions
etc.
Then the wind which had been against the Christians
suddenly dropped.
THE
BATTLE WAS WON! |
HERE’S WHY!
As the International Year of
the Family was coming to a close, our Holy Father told
us he was thinking about how many children
in today’s world experience unspeakable sufferings.
It was while thinking of these facts, he decided to write
a letter to children, titled John Paul II Christmas Letter
to the World’s Children! Below are excerpts:
|
“Jesus
eagerly awaits their prayers”
“What enormous power the prayer of children has”
“...dear young friends,
it is to your prayers that I want to entrust the
problems of your own families and all the families
in the world.”
"We must pray together,
and pray hard, that humanity made up of billions
of human beings, may become more and more the
family of God and able to live in peace…”
“It
is absolutely true: that Jesus and HIS mother
often choose children and give them important
tasks for the life of the Church and of all humanity.”
“It was while I was
thinking about these facts… that I decided to
ask you, dear boys and girls, to take upon yourselves
the duty of praying for peace.” |
The Vatican press office called
the Christmas letter a “mini-encyclical.” It said, “The
text presented a true pastoral for children.” Said to
be the first papal document ever specifically addressed
to children, it marked the close of the 1994 International
Year of the Family.
A MISTAKE OR
INSPIRATION?
In reality none of us would
have ever written a three page letter to children, because
of the fear it would be a waste of time, or never delivered,
or never even read by the children we were writing to.
For sure we would never present such a great mission of
prayer, and the magnitude of today’s family problems to
little ones.
Possibly a waste of time? Or
was the Holy Father inspired by the Holy Spirit and did
he hope adults would one day deliver his Christmas letter,
and make the effort to help unite the prayers of children
for a remedy to our world in crisis? Perhaps this
letter contained one of the most powerful messages that
was ever sent to children on a world-wide scale? Other
than the Lord himself, who said, “Whoever
receives one of these little ones in my name receives
Me, and Him who sent me.”
JUST IMAGINE
IT!
A sea of children gathered in "Song and Prayer"
before our Eucharistic Lord. How pleased His Sacred Heart
will be, possibly a grace will be obtained for our broken
hearted world. Please do all you can to help make this
happen.
LET'S DO IT!
This is a simple yet powerful
way for Catholics to unite their prayers. Together
let us petition the Queen of Heaven to intercede for us,
before the throne of her Divine Son for a NEW OUTPOURING
OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR FAMILIES, FOR LIFE, and peace in
the world.
May God bless
us all through the Heart of His Mother!
